Carpentier is quickly making himself at home in NASCAR. (LAT photo) » More Photos
Ain’t life funny? With all the high-profile “open wheel” talent making the switch to NASCAR of late, the guy who made the switch with the least fanfare is – arguably – doing the best job of the lot.
That guy would be Patrick Carpentier. As is his want, Carpentier slipped onto the Nextel Cup scene under the radar this year after spending a couple of seasons at sixes and sevens following his departure from the Champ Car World Series in the wake of a 2004 season that saw him win a race, finish third in the points race . . . and learn his services were no longer required.
